Our story

In 2011, Carys Boulton, Dani Robertson and Sarah Twells had luckily all stumbled across each other on the Surfgirl Magazine Community page. After realising they all surfed similar breaks, and had only ever surfed solo, they scheduled to meet for their first ever female group surf!

On a very icy December morning at Rest Bay (Porthcawl, South Wales), and after putting on fifty layers of clothing, and scraping the ice from their cars, they excitedly made their way to Rest Bay. After a fun and bitterly cold surf, a friendship had quickly been formed, then whilst talking over a much needed post surf hot chocolate, they realised that there must be hundreds of women in the same situation. It was then that they decided to create a female only surf group on Facebook, to help women of all ages to forge new friendships, arrange surf meets, and most importantly to support and inspire each other in and out of the water.

Surf Senioritas was born!

Now in 2016, we have over 1700 members from across the world and Surf Senioritas has grown into a thriving social community.

We are a strong and supportive community, where every Seniorita is equal. We encourage women of all ages and abilities to join us, to get into the water and grow their confidence, both with their sea legs but also through all aspects of their lives.

We celebrate the strength and skill of each and every woman, from beginners to pro athletes, sharing the stoke and the smiles. You'll make friends for life and create some amazing memories along the way. 

Our Facebook group has a very strong following and once you're in, you will always find a Seniorita to go surfing or skating with. No waves? No problem. We have a treasure trove of sea related goodness to keep you going from one surf to the next.

Our main aim is to get more women surfing, and to increase training opportunities. We love to support local businesses and would like to hear from you if you have, or know of, a surf related business you think the Senioritas should know about!
